Wilbraham Mansion and The Blue Pig Tavern
If you are staying at The Wilbraham Mansion and desire a fine dining experience consider The Blue Pig Tavern.
The Blue Pig Tavern serves signature American fare that is nostalgic, simple and fresh, featuring local seafood and produce in a warm, relaxing atmosphere.
The distinctive dining rooms of the Blue Pig Tavern are tucked in the corner of Congress Hall that fronts on Congress Place and Perry Streets. Its name derives from a gambling parlor sited in Congress Hall in the mid-1800s. Earlier still, in the 1700s, Elias Hughes operated a tavern for whalers on this site. It was the first tavern in Cape May. Some of our favorite dishes include:
vinaigrette
Seared Scallops - grilled corn salad, candid bacon and cilantro jalapeno vinaigrette
Blue Crab Salad - Jumbo Lump Crab with fresh tomatoes and avocado, in a light basil vinaigrette
Grilled Trout – whipped yams with roasted pineapple puree and braised collard greens with bacon
Creole Jambalaya – smoked chicken and mussels made with chorizo sausage shrimp and okra, simmered in a spicy tomato – pepper sauce and served over rice pilaf.
